One Woman's Bathmat

These bright days, the evening sky is such a beguiling petrol blue that in a fit of romanticism I have bought a matching bathmat.

  4. Petrol blue? I think something is lost in translation...(Is Irish petrol blue?)
Anyway, the sky is glorious, and the bathmat looks Caribbean to me, and so pretty with the pinks that adorn your life.

    1. I have always understood it to be Petrel blue as in the bird, but I am not 100% certain of that.
      Very pretty Mise .

  5. Maybe you got it the wrong way round. Maybe the sky is romantically matching to your bathmat. Buy another one - how about orange - and see what happens to the sky then. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

  6. Hello Mise:
Was there ever such a match? Or could it be that, using modern technology, it has been possible to 'doctor' the landscape, and in this case the sky, to the exact colour? Whatever, we think that it is amazing and love both the image and the bathmat.

  7. It's your attention to detail that keeps me coming back here.

  8. I was just wondering, did you get an irritating dotted red line underneath the word 'bathmat' which you persistently ignored? How dare these machines tell us how to spell our own words!

  9. Mise, are you being accused of Photoshop-ing your sky? And am I right in guessing that petrol blue comes from the colour of blue you get from spilled petrol...

  10. I'm sorry Mise, you're going to have to stop with the pictures of your outside. Those of us who live in city streets of redbrick and cars and wheelie bins just can't cope. Your bathmat is lovely, but the sky and the sea and the stone walls are too much for me. I might just have to come and move in with you. I'm sure you have an outhouse with a bright door I could live in?

  17. Exiting a warm bath and stepping into the clear blue sky seems a fine idea. Enjoy.
