red, yellow and white

I have just repainted the red bench in red
the yellow chairs in yellow
and the white table,
as you will have noticed,
a slightly more aqua shade of white
than it was.

Next spring, I may have the time and energy
to sand and prime everything
and paint the table cobalt blue
and the chairs rose pink:
a transformation.

Won't that be lovely?
Perhaps you will visit us then,
wearing a toning frock?

    1. A gown would be fine, dear Toffeeapple, if you consider a frock too informal.

  2. Nice job with the painting Mise! And what a lovely picturesque setting for a nice cup of tea! I'll visit next year so :-)

  3. I need to repaint mine as well- coincidently red and yellow as well- I've been trying to convince myself that the 'weathered look is in' but really it would not be fun to sit on and have paint flakes on ones backside.

  4. What a pretty part of the world you live in! Bold primary colours are so happy and optimistic. I guess a grey frock would be a no-no for my visit? xx

  5. Oh I am going to start on the tunic forthwith. This is just the sort of notice I require!

  6. I would be delighted, just as soon as I find out what a toning frock is.

    Googling...

    1. It'd be like a tuning fork, wouldn't it, Jane, but more subdued?

  7. Bold happy colors and a view. You don't need pink and cobalt to entice visitors and their frocks.

  8. I have searched my wardrobe for a toning frock dear Mise, but found only contrasting habiliments. I fear I must decline the invitation when it comes.

  9. You know, I never noticed the aqua shade of white against last year's. Oh, unobservant me. I blame my screen on the iMac.

  10. As long as the sky is that color blue, I shall wear gold. And gold and gold and gold. Crinkly gold lame dress. Which I don't own yet but shall surely locate.

  11. Please send me your paint swatch ahead of time and I'll be sure to choose my frock colour accordingly. Beautiful flower selections too, Mise.

  12. You weren't joking when you called your blog "Pretty Far West " were you. Is that the Atlantic I spy? I like your primary coloured world, however it wouldn't tone with our grey muddled weather up here. Our weather comes from the Irish Sea, so it is your fault, you send all your unwanted clouds our way.

  13. Beautifully colorful Miss Mise; I need to touch up my bench and then I will post pics!!

Will a long, light, flowy summer frock suffice?

  14. Crikey judging by the amount of sunshine in your photographs I am off to don a frock, before travelling directly to your terrace. I do hope the paint is dry by the time I arrive. Mind you with ALL that sunshine I expect it will be. I may be there for sometime, but promise I won't get in the way...

  15. With all that sun, I think a 'tanning' frock will be in order! It was so nice to see all that natural blue & green next to your very own created red, yellow and white...just what this deluged, soggy, and gray girl needed to see this very moment!
Loved your flowers and 'African Thingy' by the way...very pretty, and only ever so slightly leaning!

  16. Now don't get too ahead of yourself here my girl. These things take time, I would hate to think you'll beat MOTH's record of 2 years to do a flipping bathroom reno.

  20. Hello Mise:
It is possible that only one of us will appear in a toning frock but which of us that will be is yet to be decided. However, we do assure you that the other will be resplendent in a suit chosen to complement aforementioned frock as well as the table and chairs. Which, of course, we love for their vibrancy and situation.

  21. Whoa! Pull up the horses! is that your view? your terrace? Awesome!!!

  22. Your furniture looks much the same as ours, except that ours is brown ..... as Malcolm has only just painted it, I think perhaps I won't suggest that he changes it all for your vibrant colour scheme!!

  23. Cobalt blue and rose pink might be nice, but I quite like your table, bench, and chairs just the way they are. I'll be over in an hour.

  24. I've been looking at the view for days and forgot to comment. I'll just have to go frock shopping instead

  25. You really do live in Ireland.

  26. Dear Mise

What a spectacular setting and I love your colours. I will be wearing a pink toning frock so can I reserve one of the yellow chairs?

    xx
