fair and square

My strategy in life is to keep doing something, anything, in the hope that one day everything will be done and I can sit down and have a nice cup of tea and one of those delicious homemade florentines you'd have sent me if only you'd thought of it. It never works, but the something I just did was to visit random.org, which rose to the occasion admirably by choosing Janis of Pinecone Camp, excellent photographer and nice person, as the winner of the bag giveaway.

[Embroidery to be saved for a later post. That's me in the middle. I'm looking well.]

I was thinking of showing you the lovely picture my friend Annie embroidered for me lately of my Dublin friendies, but then it occurred to me that you'd be a bit cross with me, not having won yourself, and Janis would be the only person to pop graciously along to the comment box at her leisure and say it is beautiful. So I'm just going to set it aside for a later post when the Hurt has Healed.

  1. It's a beautiful picture and a very thoughtful gift, and I don't at all mind not having won the bag. Indeed I already have one of those very bags myself.

  9. I am indeed Hurt, but the other Hurt of Blogger's misbehaviour has at least Helped to Heal this other Hurt by distracting me somewhat....

I hope Janis enjoys the bag as much as I would have done. That's all.

  10. Thanks so much Mise! Due to Blogger issues, I couldn't get back to you until now. I'm so happy I won! Whoohoo! I'd love to send you a florentine, but I don't think that's allowed. ;)

  13. It seems a little odd to me, that your very best friend (moi) did NOT win the bag.

    Very strange indeed.

Will I be receiving the Florentines everyone is talking about?

Chocolate will help to ease the pain.

  14. It's extraordinary, Jane, isn't it? I was totally expecting you to win, so much so that I'd already chosen floral wrapping paper for you. My understanding of randomness has aways been that it's weighted in favour of best friends; was I wrong?

And the very second I get those florentines, half of them will be wrapped up again and sent straight on to you. I promise.

  15. Mel, your comments are always so perfectly formed. Would you consider running a commenting course to help some of the others out (naming no names)?

  16. Thank you, Shell, you're looking well yourself. Better than ever, if that were possible.

  17. And boo to Blogger which deleted all the earlier comments during its little fit, and they were so lovely and complimentary. Bless you, cruelly deleted commentators.
